JŪRATĖ BAGDONAVIČIŪTĖ

Lithuanian painter Jūratė Bagdonavičiūtė was born in 1949, Vilnius. In 1974 she graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute. Since 1983 is a member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists. Since 1974 she participates in exhibitions, plein air paintings in Lithuania and abroad. She painted chamber mood landscapes, still lifes, figurative compositions. Early paintings are characterized by dark color, expressive strokes, a common motif of a children’s playground. The later ones are characterized by means of graphic expression, calligraphic silhouettes of figures.
