LINAS LIANDZBERGIS
Liandzbergis Linas graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1989. Since 1993 he has been teaching at the Lithuanian University of Education (until 2011 Vilnius Pedagogical Institute); associate professor (2009). Member of the group of painters “Žalias lapas”. Since 1989, he has participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad – in Budapest, Kongju, Copenhagen, Quebec, Beaconsfield (Great Britain), Marseille, Berlin, Helsinki, Moscow, Tashkent, Rome, Kiev, Riga; individual ones in Vilnius (1991, 1993–95, 2001, 2006, 2009, 2019), Berlin (1994), Chicago (1996), Klaipėda (2005, 2013, 2018), Kaunas (2011), Kyiv (2013), Panevėžys (2014) ), in Palanga (2022). The painting style is characterized by the features of abstract expressionism (Kompozija Nidai 1995), sub-pictorial abstraction (Leaving Edenas 2005), there are elements of figurative art. Creates painting (Work: to each his own, 2003), sound and video (Probability and possibilities, with T. Gutauskas and K. Mašanauskas, 2001) installations. In his performances and video art works, he emphasizes the problems of social behavior (Mix 2001, Vilnius Perkusija 2005, with A. Gražiu and H. Gulbin). He created scenery for theater performances in Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys, various festivals, concerts, and other events. Curator of painting exhibitions. With J. Katinas organized international performance festivals in Vilnius from 1995 to 2007. Golden badge of the Union of Lithuanian Artists (2011).
