PETRAS LINCEVIČIUS

Artist Petras Lincevičius completed his bachelor’s studies in painting at the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. In 2014 he finished art pedagogue courses and in 2015 he completed his master’s studies in painting at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Awards, scholarships, residencies, etc.:

• Member of the Union of Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Art Creators since 2020;
• In 2020, 2018, received Lithuanian Cultural Council scholarship;

• Painting and Drawing lecturer in Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty Since 2018;
• Member of the LKT Regional Culture Council (Kaunas county, Prienai district);

• Member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists since 2017;

• In 2015 awarded Best young artist of ArtVilnius’15 art fair, Vilnius.
• In 2011 received Dalia Gruodienė name prize.

“My work can be described with the concepts of philotopy and genius loci. The first – defines a specific way of thinking that is rooted in a specific place – the native land and provides the opportunity to engage in the contemplation of universal and global contexts with a positioned and embedded thinking. The second is dedicated to the analysis of specific areas, their uniqueness and the local spirit. Creation for me is a language in which I can express the phenomenological experiences of the analysis of specific places, objectified and materialized culture analysis, which are aimed at analyzing the topic of local identity in a global society.” – Petras Lincevičius.
