ARVYDAS KAŠAUSKAS

Arvydas Kašauskas was born in 1959, Vilnius. In 1977-1982 he studied frescoes and mosaics at the Vilnius Art Institute (now the Vilnius Academy of Arts). Since 1999 is a member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists. Almost every year, the author organizes or participates in at least twenty solo and group exhibitions in Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Italy, Germany, France, etc.

“I am most interested in good painting: composition, color, textures. All these elements must be of a high level of craftsmanship, as they, in my opinion, form the basis of painting. Elements necessary for painting can be partly innate, partly cultivated, acquired with experience. The more solid academic foundation an artist has in the field of his profession, the more options open up for self-realization and creative expression,” says the artist.
