KĘSTUTIS GRIGALIŪNAS

Born in 1957, Kaunas. Studied at a four-year art school in Kaunas. In 1982, he graduated from the Vilnius Art Institute with prof. J. Kuzminskis. From 1982 to 1995, he worked at J. Naujalis art school. Since 1995, he has been working as a professor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Member of LDS since 1988 and a member of the Association of Lithuanian Art Creators since 1995.

Awards:

2011 awarded  National Culture and Art Prize of the Republic of Lithuania “for imprints of historical time in contemporary art and for the spatial representation of a painful memory”.

2010 Prize of the Union of Lithuanian Artists “For the continuation of traditions” at the exhibition Estampas 2009

2010 Letter of honor of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania “For creative activity” on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of LDS

2008 Golden Badge of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union No. 27

2006 “Lietuvos rytas” prize “Didysis malūnas” for “Playfulness in art”

2006 Gallery “Vartai” prize of the year “Silver Foot”
