A very serious, sacred atmosphere prevails in the canvases of this painter. (…) In this mood, the viewer is guided by the plots of the paintings, which tell nothing else, but the tale of the soul’s journey to another world. (…) One: Leonardas Gutauskas is able to combine Lithuanian archetypal forms with Egyptian ones, thereby intertwining the roots of our culture with the roots of ancient world cultures into one vibrant tangle. Second: the roughness and harshness of his paintings have sophistication, luxury, the glimmer of Paradise: qualities that color gives to paintings (…). Prepared according to: A.
