Recovered Memory

On February 21st, 2025 (Friday) at 6 p.m. The exhibition of Neringa Žukauskaitė's graphic works "RECOVERED MEMORY" opens at KADS Baroti Gallery (Didžioji vandens g. 2, Klaipėda).

"RECOVERED MEMORY - a cycle of graphic works in which I use hand embroidery, thus approaching a more individual touch, longer meditation with the picture. This way I want to create greater existential tension. I choose childhood games as the motifs of the works (12 sticks, a yard, counting apple seeds). Through the game, a story is told, which becomes less painfully straightforward, having the opportunity to depict a simple action, but at the same time - conveying the experiences that are hidden behind them. Childhood pranks intertwine with experiences. When memory does not allow you to remember even the details and colors of your childhood room, when you cannot understand whether drowning in the lake was really so decisive - you create a memory from a feeling that RE-RECORDS or CREATES memories. As in the title, the works are a harmony of duality between memory and a real event. I dilute my  experiences with hints. I want to further tighten the connection between emotions and the exact event. /Neringa Žukauskaitė/

The exhibition at the Baroti Gallery will be open until March 12 th.
